Australian flutist Lina Andonovska is a performer, curator and educator whose work moves across contemporary classical music, improvisation and interdisciplinary performance. She is Assistant Professor of Music at Emory University and Director of the Emory Sound Collective.
An internationally active performer, Andonovska is a member of Eighth Blackbird and Principal Flute of Irish National Opera. Her work has taken her across Europe, the United States and Australia, collaborating with composers, performers and ensembles at the forefront of contemporary music.
At Emory, she founded the Emory Sound Collective as a space for students to encounter contemporary music through performance, experimentation and direct collaboration with working artists. The ensemble brings together new repertoire, improvisation, commissioning and interdisciplinary practice, with an emphasis on curiosity, collaboration and developing each student’s own artistic voice.
